This week’s pick is actually a chapter book. It’s a little spooky, and has ghosts in it.
A Ghost Named Wanda
Wanda is a ghost who doesn’t spell very well. And she gets bored a lot. When Wanda’s bored, she starts messing things up… like Zack’s room. Zack keeps getting into trouble, until his dad sees a TV fly across the room. Now Zack and his dad need to figure out how to get rid of Wanda or they may be sleeping at the Ramada Inn for a while.
A Ghost Named Wanda is part of the Zack Files series (#3 to be exact) by Dan Greenburg and Jack E. Davis. I enjoyed this book. I like the series. It’s a good read for emergent readers who are reluctant to pick up a full-sized novel. I think of it as a cozy read for 2nd graders.
Hey, chapter book readers need a good Hauntoberfest title, too, right?
I write about, with, for, and around kids all day. (Well, maybe I do the dishes too. Sometimes.)
