Hope you are enjoying the A to Z challenge, of which this post is a part. In case you don’t know, my theme is two-fold: an ABC book recommendation and an installment of my own story. Catch up on my past posts or simply read on for today’s post –
This book is unique because each letter is actually taken out of a word to create a new word. Here’s the book trailer on the author’s youtube channel.
T was twirling her Toy Tops, when the letters tumbled onto her page.
“Top of The morning To you!” T said.
“Has Anyone come by here?” A asked.
“Tons,” T tittered. “Tons of letters Take a Trip To my page To Twirl my Toy Tops.”
A had to admit he had done so, too, from time to time. “We Are Attempting to find B's missing ball, K's missing key, and J, who's just missing. Also, we Are Attempting to Apprehend the letter responsible for All the Alphabet chaos.”
B was trying to think of a t word, but felt tongue-tied at the moment.
T tilted her head and teetered a little. “That’s Too bad.”
“There’s more.” C held up her sketch. “Can you identify this letter?”
“I don’t Think so.”
“OK, thanks, T” B said, disappointed, even though he'd finally thought of a t word.
“Ta-Ta,” T said and turned back to her top twirling.
A, B and C tripped over the tops, trying to get onto the next page.
I write about, with, for, and around kids all day. (Well, maybe I do the dishes too. Sometimes.)
