They say art reflects life. If that’s true, a very different childhood was reflected in the 1950’s compared to Today. Here are some generalities that I noticed. While I’m not going to give any specific examples for these generalities, I will mention a few books I’ve read from the 1950’s: Happy Hollisters, Dick and Jane, and Beverly Cleary’s books.
