This is another post of the A to Z Challenge. I’m doing a double theme this month… first I feature an ABC book that starts with the letter of the day, and second I’m posting installments of my own ABC book. Feel Free to catch up on my past posts, or simply enjoy today’s –
Q is for Quark: A Science Alphabet Book
As you can tell from its trailer, this book is all about Science. I LOVE SCIENCE. I love learning about it and doing science experiments with it. That’s why today’s tangent is about Science TV Shows – all designed to get kids excited about science. But if you’d prefer to skip right to the next installment of THE GREAT ALPHABET DISASTER…
Q’s lower lip was Quivering.
“Wait A minute,” A questioned Q, “What happened to L, M, N, O, and P?”
“Good Question,” Q answered, “I’m going on a Quest to find out.”
“Well, that kit did a lot of good.” C quipped, taking off his knight suit.
“I have a question,” B said.
“Ask Quickly,” Q replied.
“Have you seen my-“
“Look at this Character sketch,” C interrupted, “Can you remember Coming across this letter?”
“Not Quite that one.” Q shook his head, and it looked like his whole letter quaked. “A letter did come and Quarrel with me. I had to protect my Queen‘s Quilt.”
“Might have been incognito!” C allowed. “Is that the Quilt in question?”
C noted in her notepad that the Quilt was smeared with purple sticky stuff.
“And who…” A started, but Q held up his hand for quiet.
“Quests are so Quaint; I can’t be Quartered so long. Plus, I must avenge my Queen!"
Off Q went on his Quest toward the beginning of the book, while B and C quibbled about who would have asked better questions. A shrugged and quietly followed the quibbling letters onto the next page.
Quite a change after L M N O and P, right? Burning questions will soon be quenched as THE GREAT ALPHABET DISASTER continues tomorrow…
I write about, with, for, and around kids all day. (Well, maybe I do the dishes too. Sometimes.)
