It’s the last Friday of October and you know what that means…
OK, maybe it’s not that scary, but I’ve had some experiences this month that are downright spooky (in a good way)
You know my secret project I can’t talk about on the internet. Of course you do, if you’ve read any of my blog posts you know about it, because I’ve been harping over it since it happened.
Well, truth is, I’ve been struggling. Five pages tops, no story to speak of. Very. Bad. Writing.
But then I went to an SCBWI Conference outside my region and met someone who had most - if not all - the missing pieces I needed in my research. We talked all during lunch, exchanged emails, and I went away from the conference jazzed. (And the workshops were amazing, too!)
AND before that, I found out the rules for Susanna Leonard Hill’s Annual Halloweensie contest (which I’m totally entering… but not today! This is not my entry blog post!)
AND before that, I got an email from Laura Backes of Writeforkids.org telling me that I'm a guest blogger on their blog. I'd written a post on different kinds of groups a writer should consider joining. (Hint: Critique groups are just one kind!)
AND before that, I figured out what happened to a blog post that I thought I’d deleted.
Mini Lesson about Weebly
Let’s say you start a draft of a blog post on January 22, 2015, but don’t finish it until September 2016.
When you’re finally done with it (hurrah, hurrah) you push the “Publish Now” button. It should show up at the top of your blog, right?
What actually happens is the post publishes in the original date that you started the draft. Which in my case was almost 2 years before. So when I pushed "Publish Now"...
Whoosh! The post disappeared. Like a Ghost Post.
"Oh Ghost Post, where are you haunting my blog at?"
I was so sad and mad, I published another post wondering what happened
Fast forward to October 2017, and I’m writing drafts that I’d started and pushing “Publish Now”.
Only this time it was only two days delay, so my post showed up below my current one. (Aha!) With some quick thinking (ha!) I began scrolling back looking for my ghost post (that I was so proud of, by the way) and I found it!
And Now, the post in question, as if brought back from the dead,
OH, AND I got to cross off TWO squares on my new Bingo Sheet! Wahoo! I’m back in the game getting 24 rejections.
What, you don't know what I'm talking about? Are you new here? Well then, welcome! I'm a cohost for a crazy goal-setting blog hop. (Not a blog tour - but I'm part of one so stay tuned...) If you want to know more about the blog hop, click on the image below.
OK, Peeps, tell me all your news this month. Better yet, blog about it and I'll pay you a visit!
I write about, with, for, and around kids all day. (Well, maybe I do the dishes too. Sometimes.)
